BuilderCo, Inc. · Commercial construction payment compliance

The paperwork clears.
Then the money moves.

On every construction payment, documents decide when the money moves — and they are still handled by hand. BuilderCo builds that compliance workflow into the enterprise finance systems already in production, rather than asking anyone to adopt one more platform.

01 — THE PROBLEM

The system of record was built for the buyer.

Enterprise finance platforms handle the paying side of a construction payment well. The other side of it — the vendors, the documents and the signed paperwork that all have to be right before a dollar moves — is still largely email, spreadsheets and follow-up calls. That is the seam we build into.

01 — WHERE IT STALLS

The documents gate the money, and they are handled by hand

Payment is not usually held up by the payment. It is held up by a form that was on the wrong template, unsigned, or filed late — chased across dozens of counterparties, every cycle, on every project.

02 — WHY IT PERSISTS

The requirements are statutory, and they change by jurisdiction

What counts as correct is set by law and by contract, and it differs from state to state and from one point in the pay cycle to the next. That is why the work has stayed manual: the rules are real, specific, and not the same twice.

Nobody wants another login. They want the problem gone.

02 — HOW WE BUILD

It attaches. It does not replace.

Ripping out a finance platform is not on the table at enterprise scale, and we do not ask anyone to. Three principles hold across everything we put in front of a customer.

PRINCIPLE 01

Read the system of record

The finance platform already holds the vendor, the project and the context. We take what is there rather than asking a team to key it a second time into somewhere new.

PRINCIPLE 02

No new account for the counterparty

The party being asked for a document is the party least willing to adopt software. So they get a link and a few fields — not a portal, a seat, or a password to reset.

PRINCIPLE 03

Rules are data, not code

Jurisdictional requirements are modelled as versioned, effective-dated data. When a rule changes, that is a data change — not a release, and not a special case buried in the logic.

03 — THE COMPANY

We build structures — in steel and in data.

BuilderCo is a construction technology company working at the seam between commercial construction and enterprise finance systems — the point where a document, not a payment instruction, is what actually decides whether money moves.
